The Masculinity and Femininity dimension describes how cultures differentiate on not between gender roles. Masculine cultures tend to be ambitious and need to excel. Members of these cultures have a tendency to polarize and consider big and fast to be beautiful. In workplaces employees emphasize their work to a great extent.
Reflection:
After reading, I kind of agree what this section was saying. I agree based on what is being portrayed from the media on how society is. At the same time, I think about who said this is how men and women suppose to be defined? Better who said that masculinity and femininity have to be define the way it is. Is it the media? Because there are some women that excel at thing men do.

I was looking over the chart that listed the most masculine cultures, and I was soo soo surprised that Japan ranked #1 as the most masculine, but not surprised in a negative way, I was more intrigued by in what way they are most masculine...

There are conditioned trends of thinking in this country, and around the whole world. Women and men are equal, we're only conditioned to think differently.
I can think of a woman in my life who is exceptionally powerful and who excels in her work life, my boss, she works as a producer/manager/legal affairs consultant in the entertainment industry, and she is absolutely brilliant and desires far more credit, and salary, but there are likely men with her same or less credentials/degrees who make far more...its very discouraging, as least she persists despite the inequalities
